My heart was pumping so fast; I thought my chest was going to burst wide open. Dragging my bags along the cold floor of the airport, I could hardly suppress the fear, and excitement running through my body. I kept telling myself, " An event of a lifetime was about to be fulfilled." Adrenaline was running through my veins like ice water. People were speedily going around as if I were standing still. I could hardly wait to board the airplane, even though I had no idea of what to expect. Always wanting to fly through the big blue skies like a bird, high above the ground, I began to have second thoughts. Filled with anticipation, I picked up my pace until I reached the boarding gate. After reaching my destination, I could see the lighted tunnel leading to the doors of the airplane. Approaching the large, gray, metal doors of the plane, all of a sudden, fear began to over take the excitement that once ran through my body. I thought to myself, “It’s too late to turn back now.”...
