One of the biggest debates amongst scientists is whether or not life exists on
other planets, or as they call it extraterrestrial life. Famous scientists like Carl
Sagan and Stephen Hawking think that life surely exists elsewhere, that Earth
doesn’t occupy a unique position in the universe. Numerous scientists since
many centuries have been searching for life both in the solar system and
exoplanets, such as the SETI ( Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) that uses
scientific methods such as radio-transmission to try and contact aliens. All of
these scientists have found much evidence that there could be or was life on
other planets.

The first and most popular finding of an eventuality for extraterrestrial life is our
neighbor planet Mars. The central character in the search for intelligence on
Mars was the scientist Percival Lowell, so said Steven J. Dick in ‘life on other
worlds’. Lowell’s theory went on from 1894 to July 1965 when the probe Mariner
4 transmit images of Mars’s arid surface. But what made all the scientists
believe that Mars carried life? 19th-century astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli
discovers canals on Mars’s surface. There is only one explanation for this: there
is water on Mars, and where there is water there is life. Percival Lowell said” Not
