A.     Background

Nowadays America is the greatest influencing country ever. There are lot of factors that influence America to be superpower, one of the factor is the rose of Puritans. The puritans had a profound effect upon American culture. Many other historical forces impacted the movement of belief. The puritanical strands of religious thought and moral judgement continue to influence, in varying degrees, the social and political thinking in America.
This paper will be discussed about puritans era focusing on one of Jonathan Edwards’ sermon which is titled as Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. The sermon (Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God) took an important part in rising American (New England) thought.
