The difference between Muslims and Arabs is, Muslims are more of a religious group of people and Arabs are more of an ethnic group. They are the most rapid growing groups in the United States. Muslims religion is like a Christians’ they have the same beliefs their god’s just have different names. The name Arab came from immigrants and their descendants.
Some of the changes made to the policies concerning the treatment of Muslim and Arabic members of society were new profiling policies and they are allowed to ask open ended questions concerning activities of both Muslim and Arabic groups. These policies allow the FBI access to their public records and other information. Two characteristics of Orientalism would be bowing when you greet someone and a ceremony for making up with loved ones. These descriptions are from a Western perspective. Prejudice and Orientalism contributes to the hate crimes toward these groups because of past happening between the U.S and the Islamic groups. Since the terrorist attack on 9/11 everyone tends to treat most Arabic or Muslim groups like they also had something to do with the bombing on the U.S. Individuals can promote tolerance and reduce prejudice in their towns and cities by setting good examples for everyone in the community, they can also try to accept everyone as they are regardless their religion or ethnicity, and treat everyone as individuals with the same respect you want them to give you. ...
