The information about race and ethnicity in the United States that has helped me better understand and relate to specific minority groups is the information about all the races. I do not have a specific group because I feel connected to all of them. I have learned something about my own cultural history that is Irish Americans. I learned that they were poor but very educated people and that they were not welcomed very well when they first came to the United States. They were slave until they fought for their freedom. This face in the year 2050 will look more like accepted citizens of the Unites States and they will have access to more resources and jobs than they have in the past. The country can best prepare for the changing race and ethnicity of it current and future citizens by visiting a preschool, you probably noticed that the children play together despite racial differences. Preschoolers take notice of personalities, not ethnicity, playing and fighting with each other regardless of race. The best way for our country to prepare the changing race and ethnicity is by accepting fellow citizen as they are. The people of our country need to look passed race and ethnicity. We can all learn from each other. Not to mention that this country was originally made of immigrants. We need to ensure that children are learning about other races and ethnicity.
