Christians believe that God is a trinity because Christian faith does not deny that there is only one God and unity is entirely different. To them, Christianity is the combination of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each one of these is different in itself yet through communion, they are each the same. When God creates, he appears as the Father. When God is said to save he appears as Son when it is said that God sanctifies and brings all of creation back to the reign of heaven, the same one God appears as the Holy Spirit (Boff ). What this means is that God exists in these three forms to help make it easier for us humans to understand, because as a whole we need to coexist and create stable communities. God however is one and the same with the Holy Spirit and the Son.
Christians believe that God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in which all three are in communion with each other. It is explained that each part of God is very different from each other, but there is still only one God. When viewed as a whole, the Trinity is the entire cycle, thee acceptance of community, co-existence and the differences between us. If it was only the Father and the Son then more possibly there would be more of a separation between us because we would be focusing on our differences rather than what is the same.
