Communism is a system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. Communication is the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, signals, writing, or behaviour. It encompasses the many aspects like the internet and the media, such as newspaper.
According to the communist manifesto written by Karl Marx, one of the conditions necessary for a communism is the centralization of the means of communication in the hands of the State. The reason for this is that uprisings and rebellions can take place with ample communication as fomenters can contact one another and spread dissenting propaganda. Once communication and understanding is established between the fomenters of an uprising and the common people, support will be gained rapidly and a meaningful rebellion could feasibly occur. Another thing that communication can bring about is revelations. If people glimpse living conditions far better than theirs, they will wish to have those privileges for themselves, and if the government is oppressive or disliked, it will take the blame and ultimately be overthrown. Such constant opposition or violence is not favoured in a communist society as it deters progress.
