I agree with the Vatican II and believe that because of the changes in Vatican II I am able to have the relationship I have with God today. Even though I wasn't around really before the Vatican II, I would imagine that people would think the church was very distant from the community.
For example, when the mass was spoken in Latin, not everyone could understand what was being said fully, but they could understand the just of it. Since Vatican II the mass' language was changed to the country's native language in which it was easier to understand. I feel like if I heard the mass in a different language I would not be able to connect to the meaning of the mass. I wouldn't be as close as I am right now to the mass if it was still in Latin. I feel like for anyone, if mass was in a different language, we wouldn't be as close with God as we are now. Another statement the Vatican II helped to make is the Eucharist should be open to everyone. The Vatican II made this statement because it changed the priests of the masses facing away from the community while blessing the Eucharist to facing the community. I feel like this made the people of the Church united even more because they were sharing in the witnessing of the blessing all together, as to before when it was a very private business.
