Introduction

The invention of the airplane has been one of the biggest impacts in history, it has changed the way we travel and also made traveling very comfortable. Airplanes gave us the opportunity to explore many different parts of the world and view the earths beautiful creations with ease. Also being a major part in emergency situations like floods, earthquakes and many other of the worlds natural disasters. Airplanes have also been a major help and influence to many military defense services.

The inspiration of the magnificent flying machine

Orville Wright (born August 19, 1871) and Wilbur Wright (born April 16, 1867) were the genius inventors that had the idea of the invention. The inventors first started of owning a Bicycle repair shop and gained there mechanical experience and skills by working with bicycles, motors, and other machinery which influenced their belief that a unstable vehicle like the flying machine could be controlled with the right motors, engines and studied practice. What influenced the Wright brothers idea of a controlled flying machine was Otto Lilienthal, a German aeronautical engineer and the inventor of the hang-glider, his methods were big inspirations to the brothers. Another major influence was an incident in the wright brothers childhood. In 1878 their father, brought home a toy "helicopter" for his two younger sons.
