A gang is a group of three or more people that are involved in criminal activity. These activities can include slingin' rocks, pimpin' hoes, blastin' fools, smoking da reefa, drinking booze, making gun gestures with hands and shouting "BRAP!" etc. Gang members are considered to be the people who make crimes.
Today the word gang is used to describe a group of hoodlums or groups of criminals who join together for protection and profit. Throughout the years people have given gangs a band and disapproving name from Al Capone and his famous Valentine’s Day massacre to Tookie Williams and the notorious Crips. The word gang originated from the word “gong” and was also linked to the word going, way, and passage and also came from the word gangr which means a group of men. Gangs used to be a group of men with hanging out with the same tastes in interests and social reasons. So upper class and lower class were never involved with each other because less money had fewer interests for the rich. One gang was the gang of four. For "any band of persons traveling together the Gang of Four (1976) translates Chinese sirenbang, the nickname given to the four leaders of the Cultural Revolution who took the fall in Communist China after the death of Mao.
