What’s more terrifying being abused by your own parents? Or being abused by a stranger? What if Precious’s life were different than how she grew up? How could a mother treat her daughter that way? These questions may never be answered. The film based on the novel Push by Sapphire. This film is Oprah and Tyler Perry’s Master-Piece. However, Precious makes readers feel compassion and tenderness towards the life of a young teenager, which has gone through such a painful life. This Film makes you feel anger, and disgust. I have never seen such a shocking film like this before. This is the story of the cruel life of an obese sixteen year old girl, and how she overcomes her struggles to survive such an unspeakable upbringing. The actors did such a remarkable performance in captivating the story.
To start with, the actors in the film did a phenomenal job. The film has a great cast including: Mariah Carey, which is a extraordinary singer/songwriter, play as her social worker, Mo’Nique, the vicious mother, Paula Patton, the compassionate teacher, and Gabourey Sidibe, as Claireece “Precious” Jones. Mariah—straight forward social worker—helps Clarieece by making her independent and confronting her malicious mother. Followed by Paula Patton—compassionate teacher Blu Rain—helps Claireece by giving inspirational advice, and helps her prevail over all the obstacles in life.
